Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about our underwater ROVs or your order? We’re here to help!

How does the Underwater Metal Detector work?
It uses Electromagnetic Induction. The coil generates a high-frequency alternating magnetic field. When it encounters metal, "eddy currents" are produced within the object, causing a magnetic field disturbance. The detector captures this change and alerts the pilot via indicator.
Can it provide the exact location of a detected object?
Relative Positioning: The FIFISH App displays real-time signal strength; the point where the signal is strongest indicates the object is directly beneath the detector.
Absolute Positioning: For the E-GO series, you can use the GNSS Locator (when the ROV is at the surface) to log real-time coordinates of the find.
How do I maintain the Underwater Metal Detector?
To ensure long-term reliability and sensor accuracy, follow these steps:
Freshwater Rinse: After each dive (especially in saltwater), soak and rinse the detector in fresh water for 30 minutes to dissolve salt and remove debris.
Dry & Store: Wipe with a soft cloth and air dry in a shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight and high temperatures to protect the waterproof seals.
Port Inspection: Keep all connector pins and O-rings dry and clean. If you find sand or moisture on the ports, clean and dry them immediately to prevent oxidation.
Safe Storage: Store the unit in a cool, dry place. Avoid using chemical cleaners or alcohol, as these can damage the device’s exterior.
