Can the Parallel Grippers be installed directly on the ROV, or must they be used with a Robotic Arm?
They must be used with a robotic arm. The Parallel Grippers are replacement claw heads and do not have an internal motor. They must be installed onto the drive shaft of a FIFISH Robotic Arm (e.g., the 2-Finger Robotic Arm) to utilize the arm's motor for opening and closing actions.
Are the Parallel Grippers suitable for handling fragile items like pottery?
Yes, absolutely. This is the core advantage of the Parallel Grippers. Unlike standard crossing claws that use "point contact," the parallel design ensures the two gripping surfaces remain parallel during movement ("surface contact"). This provides a more even distribution of pressure, preventing delicate or precision objects from being crushed or damaged.
Can I install and use only one Parallel Gripper on the robotic arm?
Not recommend. For proper functionality and safety, both grippers should be installed as a pair. The robotic arm utilizes a dual-axis linkage system designed for synchronized movement. Using only one gripper will prevent the device from forming a secure physical grip and may lead to uneven mechanical stress.
Are the Parallel Grippers included as standard with the ROV Arm Pack or the 2-Finger Robotic Arm?
Yes. The Parallel Grippers are included as a standard accessory when you purchase the FIFISH ROV Arm Pack or the 2-Finger Robotic Arm. You do not need to purchase them separately for your initial setup. However, should your original grippers become worn or damaged over time, spare Parallel Grippers are available for individual purchase as replacement parts.
