Product & Technical Support
Does FIFISH support custom development or tailored solutions?
Yes. We offer customization services for select ROV models to meet specific project or industrial requirements. For inquiries regarding custom features or specialized solutions, please contact our customer service team or email us at info@qysea.com.
How long does it take for a beginner to master the operation of one of these FIFISH ROVs?
Most users can learn basic operation within 30 minutes. Full functions can be mastered with 1–2 practice sessions. If you already have experience flying aerial drones, you will find it even easier and faster to get started with the FIFISH ROVs.
What software is required to operate a FIFISH ROV, and how can I download it?
To control and manage your FIFISH ROV, you must use the FIFISH App. You can download the app through the following official methods:
1. App Stores: Search for "FIFISH" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Official Website: Visit the QYSEA official website or QYSEA official online store to access direct download links.
3. QR Code: Scan the QR code provided in your User Manual or official Tutorial Videos.
Is a smartphone or tablet required to operate the FIFISH ROV?
It depends on your controller configuration:
Standard Remote Controller: Requires a smartphone or tablet to be connected via Wi-Fi pr cable to the controller to serve as the display and interface for the FIFISH App.
Q-iRC (Industrial Remote Controller): This controller features an integrated high-brightness screen and built-in control system, eliminating the need for an external mobile device.
Are FIFISH ROVs permitted on commercial flights?
Permission depends on the battery's Watt-hour (Wh) capacity. Below is the status for common models based on standard 100Wh carry-on limits:
FIFISH V-EVO (97.2 Wh): Typically permitted in carry-on luggage.
FIFISH E-GO (69.12 Wh per unit): Typically permitted in carry-on luggage.
FIFISH V6 EXPERT (156 Wh): Exceeds the standard 100Wh limit; may require special airline approval or face transport restrictions.
Other Models: Please check the Wh rating printed on the ROV shell for compliance.
Important: Policies vary by carrier and region. We strongly recommend confirming with your airline before travel to ensure compliance with their specific safety regulations.
Can I replace the ROV’s internal battery myself?
For models with integrated batteries (e.g., V-EVO, V6 EXPERT), the shell is factory-sealed to ensure waterproofing; self-replacement is not recommended and will void the warranty. For modular industrial models (e.g., E-GO), the battery is swappable.
Can the FIFISH ROV be used in extreme temperatures?
Operating temperature limits vary by model and specific hardware configurations.
For FIFISH V-EVO, V6 EXPERT, & E-GO: The supported operating temperature range is typically -10°C to 60°C (14°F to 140°F).
Other Models: Please refer to the specific Technical Specifications in the product manual for the precise temperature range.
Operational Note: While the ROV can function within these limits, extreme temperatures may still affect battery efficiency, sensor precision (drift), or system cooling. Always prioritize the parameters listed in your model's specific user manual for safe and optimal performance.
What is Omnidirectional movement on the FIFISH?
The FIFISH's patented motor arrangement delivers the user complete 360° freedom to move in all directions and angles underwater (Omnidirectional Movement).
Delivering '6 Degrees of Freedom, the FIFISH can move left & right, up & down, forward & backward, as well as rotate in 360° pitches (y-axis), 360° rolls (x-axis), and 360° yaws (z-axis).
In addition, the FIFISH's Posture Lock™ function enables operators to maintain the ROV's angle position, while moving forwards or backwards simultaneously.
How do the controls work for the FIFISH ROVs?
The left joystick controls horizontal movements (i.e., forward, reverse, left turn & right turn)
The right joystick controls rolling movements (i.e. pitch & roll sideways with 360°)
The wheels on the corner of the RC controls lateral & vertical movements (i.e. elevate up/ down, lateral left/ right)
How can I reduce FPV latency?
Standard latency is between 150ms and 200ms. If you experience significant lag:
Stay within 5 meters (16 ft) of the Remote Controller.
Lower the Live Resolution to 480P and set the Live Bitrate to 1M in the App settings.
Check for local Wi-Fi interference if operating indoors or near heavy industrial equipment.
Why is the 3D model orientation in the App inconsistent with the ROV's actual position?
This typically indicates the need for a compass calibration. Navigate to the App's calibration menu and follow the instructions for Mag Calibration to re-sync the ROV’s internal sensors with the digital display.
What should I do if a thruster is jammed?
Disconnect power immediately. Use fresh water to flush out sand or salt crystals. For tangled debris (like seaweed or fishing line), carefully use tweezers to clear the propeller. Do not force the motor to spin manually while powered.
What happens if the tether is disconnected or severed during a dive?
The ROV will cease movement commands. Depending on the model and settings, it may initiate a safety protocol or enter a neutral buoyancy state. To prevent loss, always ensure the tether is securely locked and free from sharp obstacles during operation.
How do I maintain the ROV after a dive?
Proper post-dive care is essential for longevity:
Rinse: Thoroughly soak and rinse the ROV in fresh water for at least 30 minutes to remove salt and debris.
Dry: Wipe the unit with a soft cloth and allow it to air dry in a shaded area (avoid direct sunlight).
Inspect: Check thrusters for obstructions and ensure connectors are clean and dry before storage.
How often does the FIFISH ROV need charging?
FIFISH ROVs can charge to 90% capacity within 1 hour at the quickest.
It is recommended to charge and discharge the FIFISH ROV once every 3 months (charge to 50~60% capacity for lengthy storage).
How do I export photos and videos from the ROV?
There are two primary methods:
Wireless: Download media directly to your mobile device via the FIFISH App’s "Album" section while connected to the ROV.
Wired: Connect the ROV or Internal SD card to your computer using the official data cable to transfer high-resolution files directly.
Why is my storage capacity lower than the advertised 64GB/128GB?
Like all storage devices, a portion of the internal memory is reserved for the ROV’s operating system and system logs to ensure stable performance.
What do the A, S, and C modes on the Remote Controller represent?
A is Attitude mode, S is Sport mode, and C is the Combination mode.
A Mode / Attitude Mode
A Mode is designed for beginners. The ROV will not roll in A Mode. The ROV will stay in same depth moving when depth holding is ON. Even with pitch angle, the depth will be the same.
S Mode / Sport Mode
S Mode is designed for skillful pilots. S Mode will enable the rolling freedom, so you will access all 6 degree of freedom of V6 Expert. Controlling and moving based on the FPV (Frist Person View), do not operate in third person view. The ROV will only stay in the same depth with no command input, when depth holding ON.
C Mode / Combination Mode
C Mode activates the head tracking controlling via the VR Goggle, which allow pilot to use the VR Goggle to pitch, roll and yaw. C Mode delivers the intuitive control and immersive experiences. C Mode supports head tracking and remote controller working together.
Accessories Attached
The right wheel will ONLY be working in A Mode or C Mode for motor driven accessories. For example, robotic arm, water sampler, robotic fish clamp, and compass ruler, and sludge sampler etc.
