Can I see the sampling process in real-time?
Yes. Through the ROV's camera, you can monitor the sampler, and ensure successful sediment collection via the live FPV feed.
How to conduct the mud sampling using the remote controller?
1. Switch the remote controller to A Mode.
2. Operate the right front roller to control the closure of the mud sampler cover.
3. Sample the mud through the first-person view on the FIFISH APP.
Are there any environmental restrictions?
Avoid using the sampler in extremely harsh conditions, such as areas with strong currents, massive waves, or high acidity/alkalinity, as these may damage the device or compromise the sample's integrity.
What should I do if the sampler gets stuck in the mud?
Do not force the ROV to pull away abruptly. Use the ROV’s thrusters to gently wiggle or pitch the vehicle to loosen the sampler from the sediment before ascending.
How should I maintain the Mud Sampler after use?
To ensure reliable performance:
Rinse: Thoroughly wash the sampler with fresh water after every dive to remove salt, sand, and mud residue.
Dry: Ensure all mechanical parts and electrical connectors are dry before storage.
Inspect: Regularly check for any signs of wear on the moving parts or damage to the connection cable.
